Floor Modification · Precision Hardwood Work
Where Hardwood
Meets Tile
A precision hardwood floor modification to make room for an expanding kitchen tile field — cut-back, subfloor prep and leveling, plywood infill, a custom transition strip, and a full kitchen renovation.
A Floor That Had to Move Back
The kitchen renovation called for an expanded tile field — the existing hardwood had to be cut back precisely. Cut sloppy and the transition looks wrong. The hardwood was cut to a clean, square line, the subfloor leveled, plywood infill installed, and a custom transition fabricated.
Plywood In, Transition Built
Plywood cut to fill the gap — screwed to the subfloor and feathered flush. A custom transition strip fabricated to bridge hardwood and tile at the correct height differential.
A Kitchen Transformed
With floor prep complete — new tile field, new cabinets, new countertops, subway tile backsplash, and a professional range with stainless hood. The expanded tile field ties directly to the new hardwood edge.
